Our Refurbished Food Court is Now Open!

The new $8.7 million indoor food and entertainment precinct is now open. The refreshed food court includes new timber furniture, a kids play area, a major artwork and a large format digital screen.

Hutchinson Builders, Northern Territory team, was engaged as the main contractor on the Food Court upgrade.100% of subcontractors came from within the Northern Territory. The main subcontractors were Alpha Joinery and Northern Trade Solutions.

The Darwin region has benefitted from approximately $5m of local business generated by the project.

To match the landscape of Darwin, lush greenery has been introduced to bring the space to life. The design of the food court includes raw materials, with timber details and a natural colour palette creating a plantation style eatery.
The new dining layout caters for communal style eating and areas for more privacy. The new look food court creates a warm community atmosphere, as a space for people to come together, eat and socialise with space for entertainment and community events. The kids play area in the indoor food court includes a climbing tower, spiral slide and artificial grass.
Suspending above the food court is the artwork, Canopy, by Artist Catriona Stanton, which draws inspiration from the local environment.

The new indoor precinct includes space for local performances and community activities. The large format digital screen will display content relevant to the community, such as the weather and major sporting events.
The redeveloped indoor food and entertainment precinct will be another family-friendly place for the local Darwin community to socialise and gather.
