Nando’s is famous for its Portuguese flame-grilled chicken in Peri-Peri sauce but what is Peri-Peri and where did it come from?  Why is it so good?  Well here are the details on our favourite Portuguese sauce!

Peri-Peri originates in Africa, most prevalent in Angola, Namibia, Mozambique and South Africa (Nando’s actually started in Johannesburg and not Portugal like commonly thought!)

Peri-Peri is a capsicum plant (who would have guessed?!) and is a Swahili word for, ‘pepper pepper’!
Nando’s started from humble beginnings and can be attributed to the spread of Peri-Peri, putting fire the bellies of all who eat it, igniting passion in their souls.
