CRUELLA (Released May 27)

A bit of nostalgia for parents and a whole lot of gripping fun and excitement for the kids, Cruella is a live-action feature film based on Cruella De Vil, the puppy-napping (fashionista) villain from Disney’s 101 Dalmatians. The film dives back excitingly to her youth in 1970’s London, to the making of Cruella.

Played by the fabulous Emma Stone, Estella (who becomes Cruella), catches the eye of a fashion legend (Emma Thompson). But the next course of events leads to Estella developing and embracing her wicked side and becoming revenge-seeking Cruella.
This film is far more geared to adults (subtly) than other Disney movies of days gone by. The style, the grit, the 70’s nostalgia.
You’ll be gobsmacked by the brilliant story of the making of the villain you’ve known and loved feared through your childhood and beyond. Your kids will be on the edge of their seat with excitement as they learn the key piece of history to this timeless tale.
SPIRIT UNTAMED (Released June 12)

Spirit Untamed is an epic adventure about two kindred spirits meeting. One, a wild horse, Spirit. The other, a headstrong girl called Lucky, looking for her place in the world.

Spirit Untamed follows the Netflix series Spirit Riding Free. The new movie acts as a refresher, introducing Lucky, her father and aunt as they move to the frontier town of Miradora. Lucky feels out of place until she meets the equally independent Spirit, and discovers a few secrets from the past about her late mother along the way.
The kids will love the brave and love filled story they are likely already familiar with. Some new age kids movies push ‘adult’ content a little too much to give the parents a laugh. Spirit Untamed does not. It simply draws you in with a beautiful, wholesome tale of two unlikely friends helping each other become a whole.
MOONBOUND (Release Date June 24)

Based on one of Germany’s most popular Children’s books, Moonbound is a magical tale with gripping adventure, colourful characters and amazing creativity.

It follows a boy named Peter who goes on an enchanting journey to the moon to save his little sister Anne from the evil Moon Man.
A charming new feature animation, Moonbound will wow both kids and adults with concepts and fantasy elements you’d never imagine. On top of that, the film heroes both strong female and male characters, from a range of backgrounds and ethnicities.
A modern, emotion-driven movie the whole family will love.

Cranston Academy: Monster Zone follows the story of a highly intelligent 15 year old boy Danny, who transfers to an elite boarding school for geniuses, accidentally opening a portal to monsters from another dimension. To save the school from the monsters, he must team up with his moth-human hybrid professor and his arch rival, Liz.

The kids will love the giant flying eyeballs, two-headed dogs and slimy tentacles amongst other monsters. Some scenes might be a little confronting for more sensitive younger eyes, but overall the message about teamwork in overcoming a problem is a nice one.
Adults will find the hidden humour appealing, with funny scenes like the moth-human professor whispering sweet nothings to every street lamp he encounters.
SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY (Release Date July 15)

Warner Bros holds a special place in our hearts. Are we right?! Space Jam offers something that will both thrill and excite kids and adults alike. NBA superstar LeBron James teams up with none other than the one and only Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang, for this long-awaited sequel.

LeBron and his youngest son find themselves trapped in the Serververse ruled by a rogue A.I. named Al-G Rhythm (none other than the legendary Don Cheadle). LeBron must save his son by leading a team of Warner Bros legends to win a basketball match against Al-G's digitized champions, the Goon Squad. A powered-up virtual team of avatars of professional basketball stars all the adults know and love.

Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and Yosemite Sam are just a few of the old favourites that will make an appearance!

Plan ahead, book ahead, get cosy in the theatre, put your feet up and prepare to enjoy these brilliant flicks as much as your kids do.
